End of Sheridan.

Last night, after printing out my portfolio and getting my glasses adjusted, I decided that it was the perfect time for my celebratory lobster that I had been promising myself since the end of February. Originally I was going to get one when I finished all of my rough animation, that got pushed back until I finished all of my clean up, which got pushed back to now. It's possible I just wanted some other kind of meat than tuna or chicken... But mostly I just love lobster.

I realised as I was eating it just what it was I was celebrating, and marking an end to. It's the end of that idyllic time of school, when you only need to worry about completing the assignments. Now I'm out in the real world. I can't depend on government money to help me through the year, now I have to pay that back. It's time to get a real job.

So so long Sheridan, and thanks for the memories. While there are most certainly things that need to be changed at the school and in the program, I came out of it with a series of skills that I can't wait to apply somewhere. I completed the four years, I was part of a finished third year film that was accepted into the teletoon scholarship at Ottawa and won viewers choice, and I finished my very own fourth year film along with all of the ridiculous electives we had to do.

Today I have to start working towards my next goal: getting my very first real job, where I will be a contributing member of a team. And while the economy makes me very nervous, I'm sure I'll be able to find a job doing something. I will work hard, and I will find one.
